In my opinion Browns Property Management claim to be governed by the highest standards in the property industry and abide by the strictest codes of practice cannot be further from the truth. Their focus in my dealings with them have shown them to fill their properties and claim their fees with a total disregard for any damage to previous Landlords or the client (Landlord) they claim to fairly represent. In twenty years of dealing with Property letting agents as an Accredited Landlord they are by far the worst agents i have dealt with and would strongly recommend that Landlords do not use them as their agent. When i mentioned to Browns that i would be posting a critical review of my experience with them Mr Simon Brown in a telephone conversation told me that he had contacted their Solicitors and accused me of 'Blackmailing ' him. I can confirm that i have received no payment for posting this review and Mr Brown should carefully consider what exactly blackmail is and if it is appropriate in his professional capacity to make such accusations in an attempt to prevent my disclosing my experience on a public review site. He should also recognise the purpose of people posting independent reviews and i suspect his indignation and intimidation suggest he is uncomfortable at the comments i have made regarding his code of practice. He has my personal assurance that his intimidation and threats will not prevent me in what i consider my public right to express my experience as i view it for others to consider.I have also registered his intimidation with the local police. My suggestion to Browns Property management is to carry out more thorough referencing of applicants and to listen to comments from previous Landlords. It is the current Landlord that will bear the financial consequences of not applying due diligence during this process.My advice to anyone looking for a Property agent is not to use Browns Property Management of Stockton.
