Great park for most weathers... kids of all ages will enjoy. Plus you can go for some lovely walks from there too.
Lots of open spaces for kids to run about, lots of walks, plenty of play parks for the kids of all ages, railway carriage cafe, planetarium, observatory, old Thorpe Thewles station , parking for disabled , lots of parking for able bodied, paths are level and good for wheel chairs and people of limited ability , great place.
Good little Woodlands Park. parking is free, gift shop and tea room, when open, closed Christmas for two weeks. the park is still open but not the tea rooms, or the gift shop. when the children are off school it gets quite busy. nice little walks as well.. little tip where wellies it does get muddy. In the winter months
We love walking here with the children as they love to explore, however it's a shame that dog dirt doesn't get removed from the main line walk as this puts us off from coming here.
If you like walking on the flat then this is a good place to wander along. Following the route of a former railway line this walk is quite attractive and is in countryside for its length. An hour along part of the route and return makes for a good stroll. You can pick up on the remaining clues to the former railway use as you progress along the former line. The path is also popular for cyclists with no obstructions. There are good parking facilities and a cafe located at the start in the former ticket office and waiting room. Quite easy to access with a toddlers buggy and safe for children, but best to watch out for cyclists. Look out for wildflowers and bird life and dogs are safe with no roads to worry about.
