A lovely walk with or without a dog
Nice area for a quiet walk.
A little bit basic and not much to see or do. Pleasant enough to wander around for about 30 mins.
Lovely area that is often overlooked. The visitor centre is never open, although the car park and grounds are obviously well looked after and in good condition. Although the park is surrounded by some very busy roads and the railway line, it is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The area is quite large with a wide range of footpaths and walkways. I like that there are several signs with information on local plants and wildlife, and maps showing the various footpaths.The different bridges crossing the beck are lovely, and there are also lots of benches to have a rest or sit and take in the beautiful scenery. I particularly like walking here in the Spring when there are lots of bluebells, and in the Autumn when the colours are simply stunning.As with most similar places, depending on recent weather conditions the paths can get very, very muddy at times, and you may occasionally find that you have to turn back and find an alternative route.
