Such a chew on, even the stripey receptionists want to know personal stuff which they clearly broadcast for the rest of the surgery to hear also
Yesterday I waited in line for my appointment. The receptionist was dealing with the patients before me and then there was a staff changeover. I understand I have to wait. As I'm waiting in the line I get a txt saying I haven't attended my appointment. I'm told there is nothing she can do. I explain, a little miffed, that I am here to attend and that I got the txt waiting in the line to be seen. The receptionist begrudgingly says she will ask but she doesn't know if she will see me. I've waited a month for this appointment.I left, rang Alma street Doctors. Got an appointment for 10 am following day. Went in 15 minutes early to fill the forms out, was easy enough. Nursed called me in on time. I explained what happened. She checked me out, super polite. Efficient. She asked the doctor if I could have my vitamin b12 today, doctor says yes and I was back in my car at ten past 10. When I was greeted at reception at alma street, I knew my experience was going to be good because she looked me in the eye, smiled and saw me as a person.
Sad that you cannot seem to get a appointment or even book one in advance, got to have luck on your side to be seen. Also receptionists hang up on you before youve even finished speaking.
wished i could give -5 stars, passing my 3 year old from pillar to post not giving her a prescription for gluten free script. Waited now 11 weeks and keep getting excuse after excuse. DISGUSTING ON EVERY LEVEL! Desk staff are helpful but have no control. This is a prime example of doctors not knowing what they are doing and being too important to take the time to read what they should be doing... SHAME ON YOU!
About a year ago I went to see a doctor for extreme pain I was having. I told him IV had kidney stone problems before and I think it may be that. He said I don't have the symtoms for kidney stones. I thought ok, it must be something though. Went to see Dr Slade who requested a scan. The scan showed a kidney stone about 2cm long. He went through my options and arranged key hole surgery. Dr Slade is the best Dr by far. Always ask for second opinion.
